What Makes a HOBY Ambassador

HOBY Ambassadors are very special. The "Who" part of our question is easy to answer. All ambassadors are Sophomores in their high school and they are exceptional students. Some of them are members of numerous activities in there schools like sports, student government, or in other academic activities. They must show leadership potential to make the world a better place.

You can say when a student is selected to attend the seminar, they are the "chosen ones" at their school. There is only one student per school and each schools chooses their ambassador. Some schools selected ten students and then has a process of limitation like essay writing or interviews to selected their one, or the principal at their school may just select the student because he/she may have seen that student excel in a very young age.

It doesn't take a lot to become an ambassador, it just takes an open mind an a will to learn, and the person must show that they can take what they learned and use it to benefit their community, school, and themselves.
